Wow, this is totally different. I still have to put the people, it really is a private beach in St. James.

I need to work more on the shore line and the marsh. I love this location, this and the Setauket bridge. One of these days, I'll capture the essence of both places.
Maybe this summer, I'll just paint en plein air.

  1. This is lovely, Joan. I think you have captured the essence of the marshy area.

  2. Hi Liz,
Once again, thank you for your kind words. When it is finished I want to enter it in the Guild Hall show, this April.

  3. Ooo, this turned out very well! It looks like painting a similar area as your last post helped you see what changes you wanted to make this time around. I really like your composition here! The shoreline is an interesting shape and the marsh directs me to the shore, which I assume is your focal point (especially after you add the people you mentioned). great job!

  4. Hi Kim,
Thanks again for input, it really helped.

  5. Joan, absolutely gorgeous use of color. I have an award on my bloggy for you today!
    hugs from Texas....

  6. Hi Nancy,
Thank you so much for the award. How do I post it on my blog, I am so new to all of this.
