Buildings, people and scenic thumbnails in watercolor. It's another rainy day on Long Island. While waiting for the sun, I did these quick sketches. I would like to do the historic buildings in Patchogue. Reese's Pub, and this old church. The little sketch of the shack and the people is Ralph's Italian Ice, which my family and I enjoy the delicious flavor ice's.

I remember those kind of rainy days in Sayville. These are looking fine! The on on lthe lower left is quite solid.Very Nice...keep painting to chase those rainy blahs away...

  3. Thank you Cathyann, I will continue. The rain finally stopped, now it's just humid. I want to do a series of paintings of the quaint buildings in these little towns. Thanks again for the input.

  4. No warts here, Joan! These are wonderful sketches! Really like little gems. They could stand on their own, or become inspirations for bigger pieces. I look forward to your renditions of the historic buildings.

  5. Karen thank you for the vote of confidence. I actually did the Reese's painting in acrylic, posted it, then removed it. It was a 5x7, I will work on it again today. Once again thanks for stopping by.

  6. Your work is very fresh! You need to do things like this to stay loose. I love your approach. Would you like to trade blog links? Laurie
