Happy sunny Saturday. It's about time. I was outside painting plein air, this old shed my husband built. I wanted to paint the day lily's, so I really needed the shed in the painting. Wow, buildings are very difficult, correction it's all difficult. But I love it all. Have a great weekend.

Oh, I will do just a little more on this shed, I'm sure the perspective if off. I'll worry about it tomorrow.

  1. it IS all difficult, but wouldn't do it otherwise, eh? I like how this is coming along, Joan. I hate doing buildings...must be the 'rebel against the straight line thing' in me...LOL Great that you are outside en plein air!

  2. Cathyann, just came from your blog. Oh, don't you worry about the straight line thing. You keep paying attention to that rebel. Thank you for stopping by and the encouraging words. I hate the straight line thing also. But it was great being outdoors on such a fine day. Enjoy your "RnR", you have earned it.

  3. The foliage looks great, especially behind the shed. Maybe the shed only needs shadow under the awnings? Then it will look more 3D.
I love the way you have conveyed the warmth of the day... lovely to look at when we are in winter here.

  8. You make me laugh...when we're out painting sometimes we turn to each other and shake our heads and go This is SO hard. isn't it?!
Don't worry too much about the perspective thing...I've been trying to keep all my building edges soft lately, and then just sharpen up around the focal area. Susan doesn't even think at all about it!

  9. Hi Roxanne, thank you for stopping by. Another beautiful day on Long Island. Don't know how long it will last, so I will get outside and do more plein air. Yes Roxanne I agree it is always rewarding. Your latest work just popped up, very beautiful.

  10. Hi Karen, thank you for sharing how it is with you on your painting sessions. Yes I hate the perspective thing. What you said about keeping edges soft and sharpen the focal area, will do.
Thanks again and have a great day.
