  1. Joan your studies are great, i find when i do tonal studies or even thumbnail sketches it really helps when I paint my final painting.

  6. Your tonal studies are vey interesting and, I think,surely useful . We should try with pencil or coal or ink or monochrome watercolour, perhaps I'll do them .

    Thank you, and yes I think this exactly what is needed for me to improve the tones in my final paintings. Also your suggestion about using pencil, coal or ink is great. I will do a few of them as well. Thank you for your input.
