Beaver Dam Creek#2

Another of my watercolor paintings from yesterday. I have always been intrigued with this medium. It can be light and airy or opaque.

Painting in oils is still my true love, just can't help enjoying all mediums.

Harbes Farm

I have seen so many beautiful sites in the last few weeks. What I realize now, that I have to stand back, take a deep breath and work at a slower pace. Happy painting everyone.

"Beaver Dam Creek"

Today we painted plein air. It was a glorious day. The view was beautiful with the fall colors and magnificent sky. I recorded this 6x8 oil sketch, took pictures and will probably go back again to complete the painting.

"After the Bath"

Judy Mackey, a very talented artist suggest stepping out of our comfort zone. Well here it goes folks, this is a painting I began 2 months ago. I want to finish it by next month. What's the worse that could happen? I have lots of failed attempts in my closet.

Hog Farm

12x16 oil on canvas panel. It was fun painting this, maybe a little more tweaking, don't know. Will look at it tomorrow. It has a different look, cooler colors.

Yesterday I did a pencil sketch of the Hog Farm.

HOG FARM

Today we met at the Hog Farm in Bellport. Great day for painting outdoors, I really missed it these last 2 weeks.

This is a 6x8 sketch, the problem was, I painted with the sun behind me. Outdoors it looked right, once inside the colors were to dark. I knew that would happen. But I did take photos so I can work from both.

This past weekend was the Wet Paints Studio Group show. I am happy to say, my 7yr. old grandson Frankie, got 1st. place for his still life, and my grand daughter Virginia age 4 got an honorable mention for her floral. I am one proud grandma.
