Peconic Bay- Boat Study

8x10 oil on panel.

I did this in 1hr. at home. We spent Sunday in Southhold and I took so many picture, and some plein air sketches. This is just an impression.
Still must do lots of studies before committing to a larger painting.

In other words, just having fun playing with paint. Happy painting everyone.

  1. But impressions make lovely paintings, Joan! You always seem to know the art of not over-working a piece!

  2. Joan, this is a beautiful study. You have created wonderful atmosphere in this piece! It is so strong as a study; I can hardly wait to see the painting that comes forth from this.
