How I Spent My Summer Vacation

We now have another addition to the family. Joseph, born on Aug.29th. 6wks. early. Thank God the baby and my daughter are fine.

Now for my art. During this time when family does come first, I managed to paint plein air in Stony Brook. It was a lovely location.

The first painting is of Palm Beach. An 8x10 oil. My cousin Sue was visiting and we painted together. It was great fun.

The beach scene, Cory Beach. I have done the same scene before. This time I painted in acrylic, using various glazes.

The summer is coming to an end, my favorite time of the year is upon us, as I wait in anticipation of the magnificent array of colors nature offers.

Happy painting everyone.

  8. Hi Bruce,

Thank you and yes it does feel so good to be back in the saddle. I can't wait for the leaves to change color. In the meantime my plein air friends are still headed for beach locations. Gotta say, it's time for a change. Maybe a trip out east to the local farms.
In any event I will be painting and posting and totally enjoying your post. Thanks again Bruce.

  9. Artistic expression of thoughts and self. Thanks for sharing this to us. I also dream of becoming a painter when I was a kid but then it didn't happen. But seeing these wonderful paintings allowed me to reminisce the past with high dreams and hopes. Anyway, thank you again! And also, you might like to try to have a stainless steel container for your pack lunch. Stainless steel containers are an alternative for plastic bags/containers. It's safer and reusable. ;-)
