An Apple a Day

6x8 oil on canvas mounted board.

Unfortunately I cannot get the photo to look like the actual painting. It looks like a tomato.

Well anyway, I thought it would be fun painting various apples. Maybe tomorrow I will get better results.

Happy painting everyone.

Oh, yes before I forget please welcome back Jan, her blog is With all my art and soul. She is a very talented lady.

  1. Lovely job on the tonal balance and shading from darks to your artful highlight on this piece. I know what you mean about being frustrated trying to get a photo to show your actual painting--can be very difficult. I have enjoyed browsing and seeing your work. Glad to have found your delightful blog (via your comment on Marie Theron's).

  3. Hi Joan!... "Apple"... it is... to Me... despite your claim otherwise!

Love the rich colour and the successful way that you have modulated it to create form and its believably shiny surface!

    All that I can say..is Yum!Yum!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce
