Pen and Ink and watercolor on Pastel paper

This is another technique I have learned from my Brian Ryder dvd on Sketching in Watercolor. Thank you Vic. This maybe an old technique most of you have done, but gotta say it's all new to me.

What I loved about doing this, is the way to hold the pen, and how to rest not your fingers on the paper but the heel of your hand. Hence producing shaking pen lines. Great fun.

  3. Hi Joan.
Well done with studying Brian. Pen, Ink and wash is a good technique. We have an Artist at the club that does nothing else but this method. Nice painting my friend. All the best Joan.

  4. Hi Lin,

Thank you, yes, on Long Island. During the summer, my plein air group went to a boat dock in Bellport. I did this from one of my photos.

    Have a great day.

  7. Pen & Wash is my favourite medium and this is superb. I love the looseness of it.
