Still Life

Still life studies of pears and eggplant and other kitchen objects.

I will be doing a painting in oil this week.

Just a word on the devastation in Japan. Here we are in our safe world of drawing and painting while a catastrophic event is happening. May our hearts, thoughts, and prayers be for the people in Japan and their loved ones.

To my fellow bloggers, stay safe, well and happy.

  2. Hi Joan,
nice compositions, simple and elegant like them! The magnitude of Japan disaster still has to be explored. I Think the dead toll has not been established jet nor the radiation,or long term effect. Nature is beautiful but can be horrific and we all share the Japanese struggle.

  4. It is through art I find peace amidst the horrific tragedy befalling our brothers and sisters in Japan. The earth lives and is constantly in flux. We have yet to learn how to live in sync with it. This will be a powerful lesson to all, I am afraid.
Thanks for your visit and comments...I wait to see your lovely sketches become oil painitngs!!!
    Peace to you.

  5. Hi Joan!... Once again it is wonderful to see "You" developing your paintings using your sketchbook! The obvious value of your "searching" and "play" is evident in the final product! A lovely ... well orgainized still life! Good for "You"!

Love to see those "familiar" objects around "You" in your world creeping onto paper and canvas!
"Paint what you love... and you'll love what you paint!"

    Good painting and Playing!
    Warmest regards,
