Mamma Mia Here I Go Again

A week of life's little surprises and not really being able to paint I started studying a new technique. Just a study in color possibilities not composition or even accurate drawing of subject matter. That's what I find so intriguing about art, little bits and pieces in the learning process.

Watercolor is a wonderful medium to study., while preparing my panels for future oil paintings. Hopefully this week won't be so hectic.
Do hope everyone in enjoying life and spring weather.

  1. LOVELY, Joan! I too have been listening to new techniques and trying them, which means I can't paint a thing!! SIGH! I hope both our weeks slow down -- it's been so tiring!

  2. Hi Joan,
always busy is a good thing. If I may say somethiung is: forget about tecniques and follow your hart, see where the tip of your brush and the colors lead you to..... In these studies I see a lot of gray. Happy painting have a super week

  3. Lovely work Joan as always. You work magic with watercolor.
I do agree a little with what Mariano says...follow your heart see where the tip of your brush goes but it's also nice to try different techniques. It's called stepping of that comfort zone which teaches us many things.

Keep up the good work Joan. your a star.

  5. Hi Joan.
Great, Great and great, all four paintings. Keep going Joanie ( As Sue would say ) you are painting brilliantly. I went out this morning for the first time in ages, and it was brilliant, apart from the insects that is. Looking forward to your email. All the best my friend.

  6. Hi Lin,

I know, it seems that way. Your work is excellent. It is fun learning new techniques. I love the Robert Brindley dvd in oils. You would enjoy his watercolor dvd. I had a problem with the watercolors it will take quite some time for me to get the hang of it, happy painting to you.

  8. Hi Dors,

I thank you for the support. Yes I agree with you and Mariano, and so does my husband Mike. He feels I should just paint and forget about technique. I just find it all so intriguing and fun.

    All the best to you,
    Joan

Thank you so much my friend. I am so happy you got out to paint today. Just emailed you a little while ago. It's nap time for me. Just knocked out a painting and feeling very exhausted.

All the best and can't wait to see your next post.
