Flowerfield WIP

Last week our plein air group went to Flowerfield to paint. It was a glorious location which we plan to return to tomorrow. The first watercolor is a sketch using a bit to much frisket. I started another watercolor in the studio from my sketch. It's pretty tricky business using frisket. It's all so difficult, but all so wonderful. Tomorrow I will gather more information on site and eventually do an oil. Happy Painting All!!

  3. Hi Joan!... Lovely and loose! No sign of the "cut out" look that frisket sometimes creates!

Lovely soft edges and fluid, pastel washes in both pieces. Good for "You" to get "out there" Joan! Keep up the good work!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce

  4. Hi Joan.
Lovely work my friend. both well done. Is what you call frisket, Masking fluid? I agree with you, I have used that but I didn`t like it, so If at all possible, I managed without it. Again Joan, lovely paintings. All the best.
    Vic.
P.S. Waiting for that oil painting now.
