SUMMER LOVIN and SANDS BEACH WIP

Two oils wip. The first was started last week, 10x12 the second 11x14, started 45 min. ago. Mike and I went back to Stony Brook. I did sketching on the beach and took some photos. We then went to Avolon Park, took a hike through the park and took more photos. I do want to go back and paint on location. Happy Painting everyone.

  1. These are looking fabulous already Joan. Love the skies and those beach colours too. Is it really the Summer Lovin' beach from Grease - it looks very similar?!

  6. Hi Joan!.... Both of these paintings evoke strong feelings of calm and peace.

I am particularly taken by the one on the left... with those figures nestled into the left side. Wonder what they are saying?

My favourites... both... to date Joan! Well done!
    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce

  7. Hi Michael,

Thank you so much for the generous comment. I couldn't resist using that title from the song in Grease. But no, these were actual people on the beach that day. I felt like a peeping Joan, but just had to add them.

    All the best to you,
    Michael
