Fall Colors Study acrylic

Please excuse the sloppy perspective of the house. My intension was simply to study the various colors that blesses us in this magnificent season. In using acrylic paints my palette consist of t. white, ultra marine blue, indian yellow, napthal red and of course some opaque colors, cad. yellow light, cad. red, burnt sienna. A palette that Roger Bansemer uses. I have learned so much watching his dvds. Check his blog located on my side bar . Thoughts on painting and art.

  3. Hi there Joan!... A lovely sketch/painting that exudes the wistful warmth and the colourful spirit of autumn perfectly!

Substitute the term "jaunty" for your word "sloppy". Many fine artists that I admire... one being Canadian Group of Seven founder, AY Jackson... who always gave his barns and Quebecois houses "sway backs"... like a tired old horse. It gives them character... a highly loose... interpretive and desirable attribute in a painting!

    Good painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce

Lovely painting, very powerful colours. I especially like the bit of foliage infront of the sky over to the left, brilliant. All the best my friend.
