Flowerfield last summer

4x6 acrylic on RayMar panel. My friend Jeanne took a great picture of this location, couldn't resist doing the 4x6, of this scene. Happy Painting everyone.

  1. Joan, these are just great!!! I like this one and the finsihed version of the farmstand!!! Hope to join up with the group next week. I was off painting in Maine, and put up a long blog post of what I did. See you soon.

  2. Beautiful fresh and lively piece, Joan. It has a lovely spontaneous feeling about it and is very atmospheric. Can I ask you, what is Ramar panel? Is that like Dalerboard, a canvas panel?

I have never painted anything as small as 4x6, I must try it soon. All the best Joan.

  5. Very serene and peaceful... this one Joan! The subtle swan adds just a needed small centre of interest to an otherwise idyllic summer show of greenery!

    Nicely done!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,

  7. Hi Michael,

Thank you for the visit and kind words. In my haste I missed spelled RayMar panel. It is indeed a panel covered in canvas. I purchased the panels suited for plein air. But they also have fine linen covered panels for portraits. They are fun to work with and I try all different sizes. But lately I have been purchasing masonite boards from our local DIY store called Home Depot. They cut the sizes I ask for, and then I coat them with acrylic primer.

    All the best to you,
    Joan
