Pumpkin Farms

Last year we painted at the Harbes Pumpkin Farm. I was happy with this painting and remembered that the composition is what my main concern was, not the pumpkins. I proceeded to paint the dirt first then added pumpkins.

As you can see, I have changed my recent pumpkin painting, thank you all so much for the wonderful input.

I did away with much of those pumpkins, what was I thinking that day. I will continue to develop this painting. The colors in the photo aren't accurate, there isn't that much yellow. All in all painting is something I love to do, no matter how difficult it is at times. Happy Painting to all of my blogger friends.

  1. Hi Joan!... Now your cookin'... and not a "too huge" punkin'pie! HA HA!!!

This one has space to breathe... and the pumpkins lead the eye right back to the sheds in the rear!

A great solution Joan! Well done!

    Happy Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce

  2. Great pumpkins Joan. What a great show of them at the farm. Must have been a blast there.
I like both paintings. The bottom one with the farm. and the top painting for the vibrant colors.

  3. Hi Joan, the one that was giving you grief looks super now. The top one, where you started with the earth and landscape is a corker! Well done for not giving up, you have shown incredible patience (a very feminine virtue I think) and have come though with two excellent paintings. Best Wishes Joan, Michael.

  4. Hi my friend.
I definitely agree with all above, Both Paintings are brilliant. What a difference to your first attempt eh? They are really lovely paintings. I also agree with Bruce that the pumpkins lead the Eye to the sheds and Michaels for not giving up. Full marks here Joan. All the best.
