The Little Church at The Grange Park

Watercolor from the sketch I did on location on Saturday.  Still want to develop this into a larger painting, first I will make changes in the composition.  More lead into the foreground.

Hope everyone is into this new year painting and sketching. Have a great day.

  1. I can't wait to see what you do with this one. Love the aura of nestled in the woods.

  2. Hi Joan!... I think you are right... this would indeed make a good subject for a larger painting.

Wonderful colour and warmth in this wee gem!

More detail in the trees in the fore will give it a "peeking through" feel and create stronger interest I think than the building alone!

    Good Luck with it!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,

  3. Hi Joan.
Love this one and your previous painting. I think you could be right in saying that you are going to make a better lead in to the Church. Your still life is lovely and colourful. Well done my friend. All the best.

  4. I love the warm autumn colours and the sense of seclusion. I'm really looking forward to seeing a larger version.

  5. Hi Joan, beautiful the warm colors. I wonder how it will be in a larger version. Fabulous details you have made.
    Lovely greet

  6. That is always an interesting spot to paint. Nice job!!

  7. Wonderful sketch. It'll make a nice larger piece. I respect your planning method.
    Happy Painting,

  8. Thank you all for your lovely and encouraging comments. I was unable to post comments or even read comments for days. Now that I am back in business I will visit all you you.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  9. Lovely painting and I agree with the large painting of this would be wonderful.
