Reflections

Watercolor, from a photo that was taken at Blydenburg park, in November. Mike and I are going out later today. There is a little duck pond in Smithtown, we can park and I can sketch from the car. The weather is still above average in temps, so it's good to take advantage before the snow and cold arrives on Long Island. Happy Painting everyone.

  1. Hi Joan my friend.
I think I can say that this painting of yours is one of your best. I absolutely love it, it`s brilliant. So wonderfully Impressionistic, it takes my breath away. paint more like this Joan. All the best.

  2. Lovely painting Joan. I really like the way you have got the reflections in the puddle in the foreground, I feel I need to put my boots on to walk there....so that goes to show how you have managed to take me into the painting. Great job.

  3. This is as Ann says, a lovely painting--and the composition does lead the viewer into the woods. What is really amazing about it to me is that Mike sat in the car with you while you painted it--he even drove! Wow. My honey is quite a guy, but not that cool. Lucky girl.

  7. Hi Joanie,

I agree with all of the above. The reflections are beautiful. Your painting is a very inviting walk in the woods.

What a lovely compliment. As artist we try to capture what we see and feel about a scene. So once again I thank you.
