Time Travel

Rainy day on Long Island, so I did a little time travel in my closet and finally came across a photo of Roxanne, portrait commission I did for Mr. Webster of Seatuk.  It was a wonderful experience going to his estate once a week to do sketches of Roxanne, she was a very old King Charles Spaniel.  This was a 16x20 oil.

The charcoal sketches were done  in the 90's as well, I use to study by working from photos of models, something I no longer do.  It is far better to work from life.  I laugh when looking at these ladies, back in the90's before botox injections were used.  It was strictly makeup.
Now I will return to my closet and try to organize, wow, just have collected so much junk.  Have a great weekend everyone.

  7. Hi there Joan!... Lovely sensitive portraits... all three!

It is always interesting to look back over time through rediscovering older work! Being able to do so is invaluable to show how one has grown... and that one's journey is not static!

A nice peek through the crack back into time... passed!Onward... and upward Joan!

    Good Painting!

  11. The painting of Roxanne is stunning and the sketches are excellent too. It's funny, my latest post is a remake of an older painting...I think they sometimes can bring you some new inspiration :-)
