The second is a test of paper and paint. I will continue to experiment and have tons of fun in the process.
Happy painting everyone.

Monday and Tuesday, Mike and I went to the Sayville Maritime Museum. I did the lower wc sketch on location at the Sayville Marina. The top was a more studied sketch from my photos.
The temps have been spring like, in the upper 50's, but today Jack Frost is returning and dusting us with some of the white stuff I love so much. To all my blogger friends in England, hope you are enjoying your winter wonderland.
As for Bruce Sherman, we know you won't see any ground until late spring. My daughter went to Plattsburg and it snowed from Oct. to April.
Happy Painting everyone.

Another day experimenting with various papers. Yes my blogger friends you are all so correct about different papers and their affect on wc painting.
Once again Miller's Pond painted on 350lb. rough. The second is actually a still life from memory. This was the set up on Wednesday at the library. The second was painted on 140lb. rough.
I'm actually enjoying all of these failed attempts, no longer playing safe and enjoying the adventure into the wonderful world watercolor.

Snow scene at Miller's Pond. This is a watercolor on a 140lb. watercolor paper , from cousin Sue. Love the texture of the paper, still some getting use to how it responds to the paint. Aint easy, but love it anyway. Yesterday I was with my art group. It's wonderful working with fellow artist. The temps reached 64, but we were not outdoors, we met at the Bayshore Library.
