Waiting For Spring
8x10 acrylic on canvas panel |
It seems we wish our lives away. Waiting for one thing or another. In October, waiting and wishing for snow. Now that we are in March, the one snow we had was enough. Time to move on for our next season. I painted these flowers last spring. Years ago my father planted a small Peony plant. It took three years for the first bloom. Many years have past. Every spring it is like having my father visit.
What a very nice painting. Beautifull! Like it is painted by an old master! I always paint with watercolor but this acrylic I really do like! Nice little story you told with it.
ReplyDeleteAbout the weather: here in the Netherlands we are always complain about it: too cold, too wet, too much rain, too less rain, too hot. I think that sounds familiar to you:)
Beautifully painted, Joan! I love the dark background making the flower pop.

ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful painting Joan. I particularly like the way you have the peonies fading front to back into the background. The petals are very well done. You have a nice touch with acrylics.
