| Fire Island Lighthouse |
Here it is Vic, my friend. This one had to be completed that day, and was entered to be shown at the light keepers house. I wanted to fix the light house, then thought it was just an impression of the day. An 11x14 acrylic. I did take photos and probably will work on another or maybe not. However I do want to go back to Fire Island, there are so many areas just waiting to be painted. Happy Painting everyone.
I love this one, Joan. It must be a wonderful place to sit and paint or even just to sit and gaze at the Atlantic crashing in! Brings back memories of my one short trip to the coast of North Carolina many years ago. As BJ said in your last post, you are a true artist! You are able to capture so much with so few brushstrokes!
ReplyDeleteI hope you do go back and paint more of this wonderful location.
Hi Michael,
DeleteThank you so much, so sorry I am late with my thank you. I am planning to go back to the lighthouse this Friday. Hope the weather is better.
All the best to you,
Joan

Hi there Joan!... Your last three done at Fire Island really capture the landscape... the atmosphere and the element of people in the landscape... in a painterly and lively fashion!
ReplyDeleteYou have done a great deal with the light house subject from a distance... but in your slight details... there appears to be room to explore the subject closer... and vertically??? I wonder? Just a thought!Great work Joan!
Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
Dear Bruce,
DeleteOh, yes I agree. I have started another of a vertical of the Light House. Still didn't get it out of my system. Going back on Friday.
All the best to you,
Joan
Now this is truly brilliant ... it reminds me of scenes on this side of the Atlantic. Really, really wonderful picture, Joan.

ReplyDeleteHi John,

All the best to you,
Joan
I love the impressionistic qualities in this. The lighting of the foreground and people frolicking in the water is so well done.
ReplyDeleteHi Trudy,
DeleteThank you so much, just noticed your latest post. I will be over shortly.
All the best to you,
Joan
Hi Joan.
ReplyDeleteAll three are great paintings. The Lighthouse is my favourite, but only just, They are all beautiful. Sorry, I thought this painting and the other two seascapes were with your light house painting. I think it is something to do with Age related problems. I loved your previous painting that was on your easel. Lovely portrait of you painting it. All the best my friend. I have just answered your colour question on my Blog.
Vic.
Hi Vic,
DeleteThank you my friend, and yes, thank you for the help with the greens. I spent the day experimenting.
All the best to you,
Joan
