Stony Brook Park

Stony Brook Park
arboretum walk

Away from the water and now it's the color green.  My friend Vic, shared his palette with me, I am working on another  Arboretum path.  Using Vic's palette.  Painting is so challenging , it aint easy, that is why I love it so much.  Anything that comes easy is just boring.  This week it's back to the Fire Island Lighthouse, I also want to add people in my paintings.
My friend Nurcy just bought over some beautiful pink roses from her garden, maybe tomorrow that will be my next project.   In the meantime happy painting everyone.

    1. Hi Hilda,

Thank you for the encouraging words. I wasn't sure about the people, it's time that more studies are needed in that area. We went to the Fire Island Light today, it was wonderful. Have a great day.

      All the best to you,
      Joan

  3. These are just perfect. I think one needs to spend time in the Middle East ...or at least in a desert area to really appreciate green. These are therapy to 'mine-eyes', Joan

I'm putting people in my drawings these days (very brave of me) I never have before.

You have put a smile on my face, thank you so much for the kind words. As for the people, we are in the same boat, it's scary business. As for me more practice is greatly needed.

      All the best to you,
      Joan

  8. Two really lovely pieces, Joan. I love the light in the top one and it's nice to see people in there too - you have given them just the right amount of attention. Vic's palette is looking good too! Looking forward to seeing more of Fire Island!

  11. Two gorgeous paintings Joan but I'm particularly drawn to the first one. I really like the way you've captured the sunlight and I agree with Michael about the people. Excellent work as always.
