Summer at Oldfield and Sailing WIP

Summer at Oldfield Vineyard
Sailing
These are two paintings I'm working on, some problems with the panels.  When the panels aren't prepared with gesso, what is it they say, Haste Makes Waste, Oh well, do over. Mike and I are going for a walk, will return shortly to visit  all of you.

  1. I love the shimmer effect in the first one. Not sure I'm describing it correctly, but it feels like the sun beating down and I'm there.

  3. I love your top painting. I hope it doesn't need to be redone on a primed support... It's too lovely.

  5. Hi there Joan!... Redone????... You've accomplished all that you needed to in the first run! You and I will both be long gone... and that pigment will still be a-clingin' to that board! What does it matter for two paintings? Just don't make it a habit... and get on with more exciting plein air stuff!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce

  7. What a shame because they are lovely. I especially like the top one. Even if you do not have a base I am sure all the paint will stay on. A coat of varnish may help.
