Red Roses and Strawberries oil

9x12 oil still life

Worked on this 9x12 oil still life this morning.  Still needs loads of tweaking.  I promised myself that I would paint from life.  If not outdoors, then from a still life set up.  Just working from the real thing brings such joy and wonder and true awareness to the subject at hand.  Happy painting everyone.

    1. Hi Hilda,

I can't believe anything you paint should be put out in the trash. Leave it alone then go back to it and re-evaluate. Thank you for the lovely comment on my painting, this one was also inching its way to the trash.

      All the best to you,
      Joan

This is just beautiful. I love the way you handled the roses---suggesting, with just enough detail. Good Job!

    1. Hello my friend, and I thank you so very much for your generous comment. Vic, I am learning so much about painting from the Pamela Kay dvd. Just to witness her enthusiasm for the love of painting flowers is so very inspiring. She is truly a gifted artist. Check her out.

      All the best to you,
