So Long Ago

Bad Boy
Baby and Jasmine
Best Friends
Many years ago, I did pet portraits and worked on commissions.  It was great at the time, these three paintings I kept.  Baby and Jasmine are my little guys that are no longer with us, so happy I have this painting.
Today I have 18 of my paintings hanging in the Bayport-Bluepoint Library.  I included these puppy paintings even though they were painted so long ago.

Happy Painting everyone.

    1. Hi renate,

Thank you and yes so happy I painted them while they were still with us, now all I have to do is to try painting my grandchildren. I have done so many portraits for other people, but it's so difficult doing family members.

      All the best to you,
      Joan

  5. Hello there Joan!... Your pet portraits shown here remain fresh and alive... even though the years and your wee pals have passed on! Keeping examples of one's early works is always a good tool to use as a barometer... on gloomy days when you think that you're not improving and moving forward.

As was mentioned by another viewer... these pet portraits demonstrate your versatility and continued willingness to try new things... to risk... and to grow as you have shown us in the past few months!

    Good painting and Happy Summer!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce

    1. Hi Bruce,

Thank you again for your encouraging words. What I love about art, is that there is still so much to learn, even though I am getting older. It keeps us all young at heart.

      All the best to you,
      Joan

    Gros bisous

  10. Hi Joan.
brilliant portraits my friend. I don`t know what has happened to my side bar that has all you lovely Artists latest postings, yours doesn`t seem to be there anymore. I usually go by
that to see your latest. So i`m sorry that I have missed a few of you paintings. I like Mikes painting, especially being his first one. Tell him from me that he is a budding Artist. All the best my friend.

  11. Hello my friend,

Just came back from your blog. Thank you for your kind words on Mike's first painting. It would be lovely if he would continue, but I doubt that very much. I love what you have posted your plein air paintings are outstanding.

    All the best to you,
    Joan
