Path to Short Beach

Path to Short Beach
I am so in love with this beautiful part of Long Island.  Mike and I will return to this location, there is still so many scenic sites to paint. This was done in the studio from a photo.  It is a  5x7 gouache on mixed media board.  Happy Painting everyone.

  1. It's got a tropical feel to it - probably the blue sky that I have forgotten this year.

Very inviting, I feel like strolling down to Short Beach, Joan.

    A lovely picture.

    1. Hi John,

Thank you John, it was so beautiful that day, the sky was that blue, with billowing clouds. The stroll to the beach was like entering another world. The sky, the water and a few people chatting on one of the benches. The beach closed on Labor Day, so it was very private and without distraction.
Thank you for the visit and the lovely comment.

      All the best to you,
      Joan

  4. Another lovely painting of Short Beach Joan. I love the summer sky and warm sunshine yet with a hint of autumnal colours in the foliage. Every time I see one of your gouache works I want to rush out and by some tubes of my own. One of these days. ;)
