Without Rhyme or Reason

My journal
On waking the other morning, had a lucid moment and remember this time last year.  Enjoying making entries in my journal.  So that was what I did, at the kitchen table there was a pepper, onion and this adorable tea pot, with green tea leaves.  In the mix, I threw  in a abstract landscape.  So a little bit of this and a little bit of that my morning passed in the heavenly bliss of playing with pen and ink and watercolor paints.

Today, it was outdoors with my pal Mac, a 10 year old Shiloh Shepherd who is not doing well with his hind left leg, but the trooper that he is, was happy to keep me company.  He is in no pain at all and today's temps were warm enough for two old dogs to be outdoors.  Happy painting everyone.

  1. Good morning Joan!... Two ol' dogs... still willing and able to enjoy doing what they love... together! It doesn't get better than that, does it Joan?

It's just the doin' that matters... after its all said and done. Better than... "I wish I hadda..." Hollow and sad, empty words to "Me"!

    Good Painting and Trekking!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce

    1. Hello Bruce,

Yesterday was one of those perfect days with Mac. He had a great lunch, enjoyed the warm sun shine as I sat sketching trees. He actually ate all of his dinner. Reminding of years ago when he was just a young lad.

It pains me to write that last night Mac passed peacefully in his sleep, at his usual place on the rug in front of our bed. Mike and I knew it was just a matter of time, his hind legs were getting worse.

I don't want to write about this on my blog just yet, not even sure you will see this, but just wanted to write about him.

      All the best to you,
      Joan

  2. Morning Joan! I love your journal work. Sure hope Mac hangs tough and improves. My "Mac" (12 year old Lab) always accompanies me to studio or field work. Aren't they the best? Sending hugs to all of NY today...hope for rapid healing for all.

  6. Joan, I am so sorry to read about poor Mac. Though it's a sad time for you it's nice to think that Mac had enjoyed your company outdoors earlier in the day. He was obviously happy and content. Big hugs!!!
