Three 5x7 oil studies of pears
I sent Mike out to buy some pears, thought it would be fun to get back to painting fruit in oils. It was and very interesting. We will eat these before they go bad. I will continue to study the various shapes and colors of this delightful fruit. Nature never ceases to amaze me. Happy Painting everyone. |
What a big pears, I love them.

Hi there Joan!... Great studies... those wee 7x5's... but am especially drawn to the strong still life that shows further "fruit" of your earlier labour! Great colour and composition... anchored by that deft and wonderfully painterly brushwork Joan! A gem!
ReplyDelete"Repetito est mater... studiorum." One of the few things I remember from high school Latin. It roughly translates: "Repetition is the mother of study."... andd that sure is the case in this post!
Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
