Stepping Up To the Plate

8x10 acrylic on mdf
Wanting to post more than I've posted in the last few months, made a promise the I would at least try to get one painting done in the course of a day.  Bruce Sherman has inspired me to step up to the plate.  Granted not braving the cold just yet, due to my nasty sinus infection, but itching to pull out a pochade box from the collections of boxes from last year.

Snow is headed towards Long Island, now, where and when do I attempt my first plein air of 2013. Maybe Gull Haven Golf course or anyplace I can keep the car close by, to warm up.

Happy Painting Everyone.

  1. Good Morning Joan and Bravo!... Brave Heart! You won't regret making the attempt to paint with more regularity... outdoors when you can Joan.

Pochade work can be done from the lap... within the warm car... coffee or tea at the ready. The view through the windshield... is still... en plein air... N'est-ce pas???

    Go Girl Go!

Good Painting!... and Have fun Joan!
    Warmest rgards,
    Bruce

    1. Hi Bruce,

Great idea, will give it a try tomorrow. We are expecting snow tonight. Not much, just a dusting. I just came back from your blog, so I will return to read everything your wrote and just enjoy.

      All the best to you,
      Joan

  2. Joan, as I've said before "nobody does it better".
Your plein air is always a joy to see but, you need to watch that cold stuff. Plenty of good days coming up ... Spring is just around the corner for you... ( I think) ?

    1. Hi BJ,

Thank you, as always your comments are so encouraging and understanding. I truly appreciate your visits. I will probably try a plein air from the car as Bruce suggested.

      Have a great weekend,
      hugs, Joan

Hope you feel better, my friend...I'm fighting a cold and yesterday I fell off a ladder getting some paper from my closet!!...so I'm literally hurting all over!!! Life can be so cruel sometimes...LOL

    1. Hi Hilda,

Thank you so much, how are you, a cold and a fall. Have you been checked by your doctor, make sure you haven't broken anything. When I was in Virginia, sleeping with my grand daughter in her single bed, I fell off the bed. Let me tell you, there is no such thing as an easy fall or when we catch a cold it is really nasty. I've seen you in person and know that you are in great shape, but please be careful.

Stay healthy my friend, we have to get ready for the spring and our visit at one of the beautiful locations.

      All the best to you,
      Joan
