Waiting for the Blizzard

Waiting for the Blizzard
They say Long Island will get hit hard.  Expected amounts of snow between 8 to 16inches and in some places on the Island will get more.   While waiting, just wanted to practice painting snow, so I worked from one of my photo's from last week.  This was just a 45 minute oil sketch 8x10.   Happy Painting everyone.

  1. Hi there Joan!... A nice "warm up"..HA HA! for that impending blizzard you are expecting! Nice warm clour... as usual.

Best stay about until it has blown its way through. We got well over 10 inches by early morning today... and another 5-6 fresh inches are on the ground here... since my last "Shovel Fest. No more of that nonsense... until the morning. Back to the easel!

    Good Painting!
    Warmestr regards,
    Bruce

    1. Hi Bruce,

It hit, and we got 30.2"'s of that wonderful white stuff. Didn't get out to paint, to overwhelmed by the amount, stayed in and just did a little 8x10 on a sky study.

      Take care,
      All the best to you,
      Joan

    1. Hi Hilda,

Cannot believe we got 30inches, how about you, I think maybe you didn't get hit as hard. Do hope so, you have been through enough.

      Take care,
