Sweet Briar, Plein Air WIP

Sweet Biar Nature  Farm
Plein Air
Yesterday's plein air is just what was needed to wash the blues away.  My daughter and her family returned home on Sunday.  After being with them this past weekend it takes awhile to get back on course.

So yesterday was wonderful.  We went to Briar Farms and I painted part of this lovely house.  It needs to be completed in the studio. I have so many photos of the gardens and gazebo and bird houses, can't wait to start.  Happy Painting everyone.

  1. Joan I liked it as soon as I saw it! A lovely painting in the plein air. I've had that in mind myself, but, but, but life keeps getting in the way. Your painting makes me think I should put a stop to that. Thanks. Happy painting to you too.

  4. This is wonderful Joan! I definitely want to see this finished!!! My sister is going to Maryland tomorrow to see her grandchildren...she doesn't see them too often and she, like you, gets down the first few days when she returns home! Keeping busy is the best thing....and of course, Skype!!!

  6. Good morning Joan!... I well know that feeling. We are just back ourselves...from the similar "place".... and emotional situation!

Going to be a grand painting Joan!. Trust your memory and feelings for the plein air experience... as are already evident in the painting at this point. Try leaving the photo references for the day "in camera"... and paint fromn the inside... from your good heart! I KNOW... that it will be superior! Trust "Me".... but more inportantly dear.... trust and honour...your very capable and rapidly emerging "Self"! This is the true "magic" of painting en plein air!

Look forward to seeing it finished.... when "You"... are ready!!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce
