Short Beach

Short Beach 8x10 oil
Short Beach 18x24

These are two different paintings of the same location.  The first was started back November before the snow and completed in the studio.  I wanted to try a larger format, so the second is 18x24 oil on mdf board. The second is a wip.  Need to do a little more tweaking.

I have painted at this place so many times and each time  it has a different look.  So this is more of a study of atmospheric conditions.  It is nice working on a larger format.  Happy Painting everyone.

  1. Hi Joan!... Both are lovely studies... good mood and colour!

You have stepped the marker ahead with the larger format... especially in terms of the atmospheric quality and wonderfully rich sky effects!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce
