Recent work

Monet's water lilies
gouache on crescent board
Koi acrylic work in progress
My Monet water lily painting was done from a photo on wet canvas.  They have great reference photos.  I will probably never get to France, so the next best thing is to work from a photo on wet canvas or freephotos4artist my good friend Vic shared with me.

The koi painting is from one of my own photos taken in Virginia, my daughter's neighbor has a beautiful pond with such lovely koi.  I have never painted koi before so this is a challenge for me and this painting is a work in progress.  Yesterday we went plein air painting and it was one of those days  just couldn't manage a decent painting.
plein air at the arboretum 11x14 acrylic
Not very pleased with this one, just might try another from my photos.  It was such a beautiful day and I enjoyed painting with my friends/ I will try to post more.  Happy Painting everyone.
