Today's Work

Caleb Smith Park Pond
6x8 oil wip
The Bird Bath
6x8 oil

Had a productive day today.  Started 2 6x8 oils on canvas mounted on foam core board.  Tomorrow we are going to the Arboretum to paint on location.  Thought it was a good idea to play with a possible composition when on location. I know everything seems so different , but it helps to take the overwhelming feeling of not knowing what to paint.

Well that being said, hope everyone is enjoying their art.  Happy Painting!

  4. Good morning Joan!... Both pieces share the same tonality... colour and both capture the scene nicely. I too find the bird bath more appealing... likely because it is different than your normal water scene interests and the subject does the talking... with the surrounding landscape... "playin' second fiddle"... for a change. Variety... I guess.

    Nice pieces!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce
