Spanish Pumpkin

Spanish Pumpkin
6x8 oil on paper

Still studying greens, neighbor Nurcy, who has a great vegetable garden
brought over this home grown Spanish Pumpkin.
I couldn't wait to paint it, simply fascinated by the pattern and
various shades of greens, from olive to cerulean bluish green.
I must give this one another try, on canvas.

I can understand why artist, are so attracted to studying nature,
This design would also make a wonderful dress or sweater.
Happy Painting everyone.

50 Shades of Green

50 Shades of Green Challenge
6x8 oil canvas on foam board

Enjoying the Indian Summer weather, picked a few Hydrangea's from my
garden, they are starting to change color.  Soft green and soft pink with just
touch of yellow ochre.  I missed the 30 day challenge some of my fellow bloggers
took part in, BJ and Julie, so very inspiring.

Well like I said, just looking and paying attention to the beautiful show mother nature is displaying is
enough to make an artist pick up their brush and try to capture what they see.  Behind the cup of hydrangeas is
a Spanish Pumpkin my neighbor brought over yesterday, She has a wonderful garden that reaps such
lushes veggies.  Last night it was egg plant parmesan.
Happy Painting everyone.

Today's Work

Caleb Smith Park Pond
6x8 oil wip
The Bird Bath
6x8 oil

Had a productive day today.  Started 2 6x8 oils on canvas mounted on foam core board.  Tomorrow we are going to the Arboretum to paint on location.  Thought it was a good idea to play with a possible composition when on location. I know everything seems so different , but it helps to take the overwhelming feeling of not knowing what to paint.

Well that being said, hope everyone is enjoying their art.  Happy Painting!

Once again I apologize for my lack of posting and visits.  I think this time my addiction to face book has been cured.  I something so difficult to understand., While there are artist that I truly admire who show their work on face book the same can be said for my blog.  So many of you have inspired me to achieve to a higher level on my journey of studying what I love, my art.
Well that being said, these are two painting that have been  worked on this past week. friends and I returned to the bluff to paint on location.  Always a joy.
The second painting is from my photo taken on a scouting trip Mike and I went on yesterday.  I did the Blydenburg dock from one of my photos.  I will go back there this week to paint on location.
I do hope everyone is well and have been enjoying the beautiful cool days , the colder days are coming, so it is important to enjoy studio painting as well as plein air.  Happy Painting everyone.
