Possibilities

First attempt at painting Panda Bears
8x10 watercolor rough draft

My grandchildren came for a visit over the weekend.  It's always difficult for
me to get back on track.  What always helps is doing something so different
and more challenging to get me through missing them.
I have never painted Panda bears and thought, why not, give a try. These are just rough drafts.
The flowers and tea pot, still working out a composition and colors .  I purchased  a
tea pot from Fairway.  Just had to have it and will probably include it in the composition
of many more future paintings.
Long Island has had some severe weather, snow, winds and bitter cold. Monet has is
vet appointment today, after, I will get back to my art work. Happy Painting everyone.

    1. Hello my friend, I do keep two blogs, but lately I am posting mostly on this blog. I wanted to keep this blog just for oil and acrylic. It is easier to consolidate all in one blog. Thank you for the lovely comment. All the best to you Joan

  3. Excellent work Joan. The teapot is beautiful....love the colors in this painting. The pandas are adorable....it reminds me of many years ago when I worked making sheepskin covers for car seats .....with the leftover black and white sheepskin I would make stuffed pandas for the grandkids....

  4. Love the cute pandas and the setup with the teapot! Glad you are getting back to painting now that the grandkids are gone. I've been doing a lot of "from the car" sketches of the snow. But I think I have had enough of this cold!!!

    1. Hi Joan, you are such a trouper. I can't get myself to go out and paint from the car. So I go to Trader Joe's for flowers. It helps to beat the winter blahs.
Take care and see you soon.

  6. I don't usually do practice pieces but coincidentally have just done a couple. These are great, especially the Pandas. And that Teapot was just begging to be taken home by you. ;-)

    1. Hello John, it seems that all I can get myself to do are practice studies. I do like doing the pandas and want to improve on doing better paintings of them. Thank you for the visit and lovely comment. I will visit your blog. All the best to you, Joan
