Charlie

Charlie 1
5x7 oil on canvas panel

I am on a new kick, doing a series of painting on farm animals and barns.  Hoyt Farm is a farm in Commack. That is where I met Charlie the calf.  Love at first site.  This is new to me, painting farm animals. Loving it and will try to do more barns and farm animals just for a chage.  Happy painting everyone.

After The Blizzard

Smithtown Barn After the Blizzard
5x7 oil on canvas panel
I wanted to do my favorite barn which is part of the Smithtown Historic Society.  Mike and I drove there after the blizzard.  Couldn't really set up and do this one on location, so I took photos.  This is one of the painting I did from my digital photo which was great to work from my ipad.

Funny thing about this barn, it seems every time I paint it, we have a severe weather event.  1st time it was Sandy, this time we had severe rain, wind, thunder storm and a tornado alert.  Maybe I should paint another barn. lol.  Happy painting everyone.

Turners Palette

Sayville Marina Marsh
18x24 oil on canvas wip
my own palette
Sayville Marina Marsh
Turner's palette
14x18 oil on canvas

So here it is February and I am in the mood to experiment.  I have become so very lazy working
on small size canvases, it is now so very challenging going bigger.  What I am very happy about is
that because of my miniature plein air pieces it is better to work from them, than a photo.
So that being said, these two painting were started  the first was yesterday, still so much to
to do on both, the second, even though they are both the Savyville Marina, I wanted to experiment using
Turners palette.   Hopefully they both will be ready for the up an coming shows.
Happy Painting everyone.
