Rose Shed oil sketch

Being pressed for time, I'm playing the plein air game. I give myself 45 minutes to produce a painting from one of my photo's. True I end up with little flower pots not completed and so much half painted. So in essence, these are only gestures of maybe something more to come when time allows. Happy painting everyone.

The Little Rose Shed in Bellport

8x10 oil, on canvas board.
Couldn't resist doing this little painting of the rose shed. On our way back from the Phoenix Art Gallery in Bellport we stopped to take some photos. I was actually looking for pumpkins and came across this little shed. The roses were magnificent.

Plein air Snow

Well I had to get this out of my system. Painting outside in the cold. I lasted 35 minutes until I gave up and finished indoors.

It was a wonderful experience. I know Karen Phipps paints outdoors in the cold, while she paints Chicago scenes. God Bless her, it aint easy!

Back to work

My painting was accepted. I am thrilled. But I must say THANK YOU to all of you that wrote such encouraging comments. Win or loose it would have been okay, because of all of you great artist that gave my painting a thumbs up.

So now it is back to work. I started this one a few weeks ago, my cloud and water study. The only reason I am posting again, is to get rid of that portrait that I posted and tried to delete yesterday. I was doing the Jeff Watts 30 minute gesture portrait challenge. After posting I realized it was really bad.

We are in the midst of a blizzard. It's a great opportunity to study snow. Happy painting everyone.

Ready to Go

Just a thank you to my fellow bloggers. I appreciated the feedback on this painting. I made some changes and unfortunately the photo isn't an accurate description of the colors , it's just slightly off. But it is in the frame and will be submitted on Monday. I should know Wednesday if it is rejected. I will keep you posted and the results.

Finding the Bridge

There is a call to artist at one of our Gallery's. I'm considering entering this painting. It still needs some definition and more shadows and dappled sun light. So my fellow bloggers wish me luck please.

I just love beginnings, so many possibilities. We shall see what happens tomorrow. In the meantime, happy painting everyone.
