Work in progress

8x10 oil sketch. I wanted to add my artist friends, still lots of color changes to be made. I was out of commission this past week. Caught a nasty bug from the little ones. I will continue to do some more color studies.

Brookwood Hall Plein Air

8x10 oil sketch on location. Yesterday was a beautiful day. We all gathered at Brookwood Hall by the lake.

I did this sketch. Taking the advice of Bruce, Mariano, and Vic. I am not touching my plein air sketches. But I will work on larger pieces from my sketch. Happy Painting everyone.

Thanks to my cousin Sue, I was able to transport my wet panel using the Travelers cocoon. A birthday surprise she sent me.

Paulson Farm

Tuesday was a great plein air day. We were at Paulson's Farm. This was a quick sketch. As you probably noticed the roof line is off, so I will continue to work on this one. Happy painting everyone. Also the fence needs some repair, after my nap.

Back to basics

Back to school for many, for me it's back to studying various color combination's . Tomorrow is a plein air day with friends. We are off to a farm on Long Island. It really helps to know what affect can be achieved when on location. Happy painting everyone.

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

We now have another addition to the family. Joseph, born on Aug.29th. 6wks. early. Thank God the baby and my daughter are fine.

Now for my art. During this time when family does come first, I managed to paint plein air in Stony Brook. It was a lovely location.

The first painting is of Palm Beach. An 8x10 oil. My cousin Sue was visiting and we painted together. It was great fun.

The beach scene, Cory Beach. I have done the same scene before. This time I painted in acrylic, using various glazes.

The summer is coming to an end, my favorite time of the year is upon us, as I wait in anticipation of the magnificent array of colors nature offers.

Happy painting everyone.
