The Beach... a wip

A better photo
closer to the original painting

Fire Island Beach
acrylic on panel wip

Couldn't join my friends at the Fire Island Lighthouse paint out this year.  So I started this acrylic on panel from a photo when I was there last year.  For some reason the photo came out so dark, I will try to edit and hopefully it will look a little better

Looking, but Not Seeing

worked so fast, forgot about composition

Once I took it  into the house, my best critic my husband Mike made me aware.  He actually said, boring, no negative space.
It's wonderful having him to see when I don't.  All in all it was a great experience being able to get out this afternoon. Tomorrow I will have another go at this, before we plant the flowers.

Kings Park Bluff

Kings Park plein air

It was a lovely day yesterday.   Mike, Mo and I went to the bluff, I painted and Mike and Mo walked the beach then took a nap.   We have had so much rain on Long Island and it is very difficult getting my plein air fix.  Maybe I should be like Peter Brown and go out no matter what the weather.

Time for a hair cut, lots to do today.  Happy Painting everyone.

Happy Days of Plein Air painting

Cold and Windy Day at Sunken Meadow

This week the weather will be warmer, in fact, it will be summer like.  So it is time to decide which pochade box or french easel to use.  This painting was done in oil 6x8 panel.  I so look forward to be outdoors again.  Happy painting everyone.

Babylon Village Bistro

Babylon Village scene

I wanted to paint this I just love this bistro with the flowerpot in front.  I went there a few weeks ago to
paint on location.  I forgot my pochade box and had to be happy with photos and some sketches.

I did this one from a photo from last year.  8x10 oil sketch. Happy painting everyone.
