Last Day of August

Well here it is the last day of August.  It has been a brutal week, regarding the unbearable temps high
in the nineties. heat index 100 and sometimes higher.
This brings me to what I have been thinking.  Most of my work has been quick studies , plein air. I am now thinking of
studio painting and doing larger pieces of all of my small plein air sketches.
I love painting outdoors and this requires so much discipline for me, but I did this when I first started painting. My good friend Vic, once said, studio painting is just as challenging as plein air.  He was so right, God Bless his soul.

That being said, I am adding the artist I follow, it is just a start and plan to get back most of my favorites in the next few days.
I look forward to seeing and following your post.  Happy Panting everyone.

Busy Summer

Path to the Beach

Go Fly A Kite
5x7 acrylic on canvas panel

It has been a busy summer and as usual it is going by so quickly.
Mike, Monet and I have been  going to the local beaches.  I take my paints
and Mike sits and reads History magazines on the kindle.
The painting go fly a kite was actually inspired by a family, the father, son and daughters
had a great time flying the kite.  Mike and I started chatting with the family, I learned the
the grandma was also an artist and learning watercolors.  Her son was with the NYPD as
my son was also a city police officer until he got transferred to Long Island.

Mike asked the young boy if he wanted to send a note up to the kite, so,
he showed them how to puncture a hole in the paper and connect to the string and up , up it went
all the way to the kite.  Long and short of it, it was  a lovely day. '
Today I am preparing the house for my son and his family (my grandchildren) they will be
here tomorrow.  We already have all the favorite snacks, typical grandparents.

Wishing all of you a wonderful August and happy Painting.
