Happy to be Out Painting

Heckscher Beach Plein Air

It's been a while since I got out to paint.  My daughter and grandson was visiting for the last five days.  It is always difficult when they leave.  Didn't get to see my other grandchildren, they were in Florida.

So that being said, it was important to me just to get out, depression was knocking and I no longer have any tolerance for wasting my days feeling sad.  So here it is, just a sketch, I may go back tomorrow and do another.

I do hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.  Happy painting to you all.

Keeping busy

                                                           Stony Brook plein air
                                                            8x16 oil on panel

It was so warm and humid to today, I really had no desire to out there, but so glad I did go out.
We give ourselves so many reasons not to go out and paint.  Too hot, too cold, same old places that we always go, but the thing is, just go.   Stony Brook has always been my go to place to paint.  What never fails to amaze me, is that, the same place looks so different from hr to hr. From day to day.  So its always a new and wonderful experience.
