Keeping Cool

West Lake Water Lilies
8x10 oil study

Yesterday was a good day, stayed in with the ac blasting and painted this 8x10 water lily pond, from one of my photos.
Last week I actually went to West Lake in Patchogue did a quick 6x6 acrylic sketch on canvas.  It was way too  hot to continue, so I took lots of photos .

What is that message that is posted on Blogger about UK and cookies.  All too much for my old brain to comprehend. Oh well Happy Painting everyone.

If you live on L.I. this blasted heat wave will come to an end on Wednesday.  Stay Cool Everyone.

Water Lily pad study in gouache

A w/c sketch

Good morning fellow bloggers.  In the middle of a heat wave on Long Island.   It is 6:30 am, up at 5 and sitting here at my kitchen table having coffee and thinking.
Our world has changed so much, COVID 19, the unrest in our country with the riots and now a heat wave, WOW, not good.  Art has always been my refuge, it is so important to maintain my enthusiasm. So, it time to ask myself What’s Next.
Mike has a tomato plant that is producing juicy tomatoes, before it gets to hot, maybe that will be my next study.
The weather has never stopped me before, so it shouldn’t be a problem.  I do hope all of you are staying healthy and enjoying your free gift of art.  Happy Painting Everyone.

Plein air today

 Sunken Meadow
Plein air
8x16 oil

It was another hot and humid day on Long Island. But friends  and I were so tired of staying in due the COVID 19 virus. Enough  is enough, we protected ourselves with wearing face mask and keeping a safe distance.  After adjusting to the discomfort of the hot and humid air and insects, we settled down to seeing the beautiful scene in front of us.  That was it, forgetting all of the discomforts of  a hot summer day, we rejoiced that we were actually out doors and enjoying the day.  I do hope everyone is safe . Happy Painting everyone.
